northern berkshire county murders

so there was a murder in my hometown i just was googling
cynthia 'rocky' krizack disapeared walking from her house on southworth street to the williams college sawyer library inh october, 1976 when she was a 17 year old hs senior at mt greylock regional high school in williamstown, mass
she would have graduated 2 years after my sis and my sis knew her
she disapeared the day after her 17th birthday
'It had been nearly four weeks of searching for the teen before she [rocky] was found on October 31st – Halloween. Hunters discover her near the intersection of Main Dalton Road and Route 9.'
paste on 'love they neighbor'
mark krizac is my fb friend and has great posts
turns out he had been hitchhiking around soviet russia when rocky disappeared, and most of us didn't know the williamstown resident and sprague electric manager dr preston robinson had designed the triggers to the first a-bombs, or who lona cohen was and that lona was from adams
kim benoit was found in florida, mass near the entrance to the hoosac tunnel and our computer class teacher ms evans at bcc in the mid 1980s said it had been her job during the cold war to take g e's computer tape reels to florida mountain and lower them into the west shaft air vent of the hoosac tunnel where they allegedly would survive a nuclear attack
lynn burdick went missing from a gift shop on the hairpin turn on florida mountain in april of 1982
'and in in august of the next year, 1977, eileen gilooley, a pownal school teacher living in north adams who had organized a search for carol ann todd and found her purse by the hairpin turn, was molested and beaten in her home'

'cynthia rocky krizack disapeared in 1976
carol ann todd disapeared december 12th, 1976 and was found murdered in 1977
'The other two unsolved disappearances were of Kim Benoit, 18, in 1974 and Dawn Smith, 14, in 1975. Both were from North Adams'
i've found that by telling true, simple declarative facts on fb i find out much more truth and eventually the truths start falling into place and making sense
kurt lehovec's daughter, who was friends with my sis, probably knew rocky krizac too did kim benoit's parents work at sprague or g e ordnance ?
williams college's president baxter, who died in 1975, was mom's boss's boss, and had won a pulitzer prize while he was in charge of the oss's research and analysis division for a book detailing the scientific advances of u s scientists during ww2
i.e. berkshire county was a cold war 'ground zero'
i guess i should tell this now...('dont buy the promises, there are no promises i keep')...
i attended arizona state university after h s and we had a visiting soviet math teacher we called 'mrs k' for her russian name that began with a k that i don't remember now - teach our remedial math course there when i was a freshman
she was reportedly one of the top mathematicians in the world
she looked exactly the same as 'mrs w' who also reportedly was one of the top mathematicians in the world and who became mayor of pittsfield after teaching at bcc and who i vaguely remember her telling me she had defected and asked me to promise not to tell
kim benoit, cynthia 'rocky' krizack, 14 year old dawn smith from north adams and carol ann todd all were allegedly killed within ~ 2 years of each other, between 1974 and 1977
within 4 weeks of cynthia 'rocky' krizack's murder cheryl mull was choked with jumper cables by a man in the back seat of her car after leaving her pm shift at price chopper in bennington vermont, about 10 miles north of williamstown mass
and in in august of the next year, 1977, eileen gilooley, a pownal school teacher living in north adams who had organized a search for carol ann todd and found her purse by the hairpin turn, was molested and beaten in her home
this is a cheryl mull's dad's obit he was born in bennington
i remember my friends and i searched for cynthia 'rocky' krizack in the woods next to the golf course we lived next to
i had kind of forgotten about it and never found out she had been found dead until a few years ago googling her, and they had found her body shortly after she disappeared
one time my friends and i were about to walk back thru the woods to my house when we heard a noise like a large person or animal walking through the leaves but we didnt see anyone as it was quite dark
so i just found out that within a year of rocky's disapearence carol ann todd was murdered in the next town over's sheraton hotel, allegedly by a work release prisoner who was allowed to work at the hotel
love thy neighbor
our next door neighbor let a guy that had been looking into her windows (besides me) into her home and he became her boyfriend
it is difficult for me to remember now for some reason - the trial was in the news almost every day and i have a very clear recollection of our neighbor reportedly crying out in court 'you can't put him back in prison they will kill him' !
her boyfriend was the alleged murderer but i forget how the trial turned out
this post and a friend's comment reminded me of our neighbor's ordeal:
- finding lynn burdick fb page image from a newspaper of the forensic artist redition of the discription of the male who attempted to abduct a woman from the williams college campus 45 minutes to an hour before lynn burdick disappeared
i mention in the comments before they were removed by fb that there was something i learned at berkshire community college that might have possibly had something to do with these crimes, depending on why they were committed
- our bcc introduction to computer science teacher worked at g e and said it had been her job during the cold war era to drive to the central shaft of the hoosac tunnel and lower g e's computer tape defense records into the central shaft of the hoosac tunnel to protect them from a nuclear strike every evening
the barefoot peddlar where lynn burdick disappeared in 1982 was at the intersection of the mohawk trail/route 2 and central shaft road
carol ann todd's purse was found below the embankment below the hairpin turn on the mohawk trail route 2:
just learned and remembered something else posting this blog on rfk researcher lisa pease's twitter page
a sweatshops called x-tyal was at the base of the mountain the mohawk trail descends into north adams
it was a defense contractor
it abruptly closed and locked it's doors after filing chapter 14 bankruptcy without any warning to the employees, who filed a suit
it was a strange place to work - but i liked it
one time a worker picked a fight with a materials handler who was minding his own business and they fired them both on the spot without any discussion
the guy that would pick fights would now be considered an online troll, attacking people for apparently no reason to see how they respond
the materials handler was a film student
x-tyal was a defense contractor and made gas masks
they made 2 kinds of gas masks 95% were the regular kind and then maybe once a week a 'special bundle' of gas mask parts would come thru
the 'special bundle' was coated with a chemical that made the lymph nodes under my armpits swell
a few years later i was working at carol cable in williamstown making electrical cords and once in a while a special order of neoprene insulated wire came thru and it would do the same to my lymph nodes
rfk jr writes succinctly and convincingly about the martha moxely murder in connecticut
martha was next door neighbors to rushton skakel
ethyl skakel was rushton's sister and became ethyl kennedy when she married rfk
the tutor that had just been hired that night had been charged with the murder failed two lie detector tests asking if he killed the victim but was not convicted and the skakel's son michael was, but his conviction was overturned
the tutor was a williams college graduate who coached and played rugby and he had been investigated in rocky's case
so i played kickball with the neighbor's boyfriend and the tutor was a williams kid and so i don't really believe either one was guilty of murder
- a young rocky krizack played in two productions at the williamstown theater festival one of which included in it's ensemble producer david ackroyd, who went on to act in the a team, walker texas ranger and macguyver
- a 14 year old, dawn smith, from north adams, was also found murdered in 1975
cynthia rocky krizack disapeared in 1976
carol ann todd disapeared december 12th, 1976 and was found murdered in 1977
'The other two unsolved disappearances were of Kim Benoit, 18, in 1974 and Dawn Smith, 14, in 1975. Both were from North Adams.'
- u p i 'there is someone out there' april 29th 1982
for some reason 14 year old dawn smith who was murdered in 1975 from north adams, is not listed in the wikipedia child murder victim list
2. the d a who investigated the person called 'the quahog' wrote a book saying leonard 'quahog' paradisio had stayed at a hotel in florida mass and had visited the berkshires with hunting parties from 1967 to 1984
- boston globe story on leonard 'quahog' paradisio
cynthia 'rocky' krizack was a child actress at the williamstown theater festival which her mom was involved with...
the rocky horror picture show was released in 1975 a year before her disapearance and aparent murder
22 year old paula snyder of pittsfield was also found murdered in windsor, mass, which is just east and south of dalton, in 1986 after being seen hitchhiking
if you remember the martha moxley murder one of the suspects was a williams grad who had also been investigated for three of the local murders, with rfk jr saying there had been murders near all the places he moved to after.
he tried to kill himself in boston after jfk jr's plane crashed
earlier he had moved back to williamstown in 1988
'The town got back on the map and into statewide newspapers during 1977, but it, was, more than anything else, for the discovery of the body of Carol Ann Todd, a Falmouth school teacher, apparently murdered in late 1976...
Crime produced the most sensational events of the year: a murder, an attempted murder, the discovery of a dead baby, rapes and a rash of assaults on police officers;
By far, the saddest and most gruesome tale was that of Ms. Todd, whose badly decomposed body was discovered May 29 in the forest near Monroe Stale Prison.
The young teacher, visiting the city for a weekend, disappeared from a blood-spattered room of the Sheraton Inn Dec. 12, 1976. Although police suspected a murder, search parties looked in vain for a body during the cold winter months and in early spring.
The two hikers who finally made the discovery said they were attracted to the victim by a foul odor. Law enforcement officials charged 30-year-old Robert A. Nimblett with first degree murder in the case. Mr. Nimblett, a resident at the local prison at the time of the disappearance, is now incarcerated at Walpole State Prison awaiting an April trial. A North Adams native, 19-year-old John J. Singer, also was charged in the case as an accessory after the fact of murder.
Two months later on Aug. Eileen Gillooly, 53, was beaten and molested while she slept alone in her Beaver Street home. That event, coupled with a report that 16-year-old Debra Morin of 8 Secor Ave. was accosted by a knife-wielding stranger Aug. 7, sent a chill up the spines of many city women.'

'The day before he was scheduled to go on Christmas furlough, Ms. Todd's pocketbook and other personal belongings were found over an embankment below the Hairpin Turn on Route 2. Rumors began flying that a body in a shallow grave also had been discovered. Mr. Nimblett said he received news of the find at the hotel from a state trooper who warned him, "We'll be descending on you pretty soon." The officer said he would check at the police station on what had been found, and return. "After about an hour, I heard nothing so I went over and asked them 'Listen, am I under arrest or It turned out just to be a little joke they were playing." The convict was transferred back to Walpole, Jan. 7. The only official explanation that ever has been given for the action is that it was "in conjunctin with an investigation by the Berkshire district attorney's office and the Mass. State Police." '
'Carol Todd came to North Adams Friday Dec. 10, driving from school with Carl Cellana, a city native. They had been dating several years, since they were students at North Adams State College. She often accompanied him when he returned to his hometown to visit his children from a previous marriage. She checked into the hotel about 7 p.m., and Mr. Cellana went to his parents' home on Goodrich Street. They saw each other a couple of times over the weekend, and breakfasted together Sunday morning. Carl Cellana called North Adams poiice about 10 p.m. Sunday. He was quite worried because he had tried to reach Miss Todd several times that afternoon and was unable to get an answer. He had gone to the hotel and asked manager Jack Wilson to open her door, but Mr. Wilson said he couldn't unless Mr. Cellana was ac- companied by a policeman. When the door was opened, police found the room stripped of Miss Todd's belongings. There were two spots on the carpet in the floor that later were positively identified as bloodstains. In the Inn's trash dumpster, they found sheets with a considerable amount of blood on them, and shoes and boots identified as Miss Todd's.'
'Over the next few days, police in- vestigators questioned hotel employes and anyone else they thought might be able to provide a clue to Miss Todd's disappearance.
A city woman, who teaches school in Pownal, Vt., organized a group of volunteers to search for some design of Miss Todd. Eileen Gillooly said she felt someone ought to do something to show community concern. The volunteers found Miss Todd's pocketbook and school textbooks Dec. 23. The articles were over an embankment at the Hairpin Turn on the Mohawk Trail.
Eileen Gillooly said she felt someone ought to do something to show community concern. The volunteers found Miss Todd's pocketbook and school textbooks Dec. 23. The articles were over an embankment at the Hairpin Turn on the Mohawk Trail. The next day, searchers found her wallet. Since then, about the only other break police have had in the case was a Grand Jury hearing in April. District Atty. William R. Flynn Jr. summoned about 30 witnesses, in- cluding the man police seem to be eyeing as a suspect, to give evidence to the Grand Jury.'

4. i think the alleged murderer in the transcript stories and our neighbor's boyfriend must be 2 different people
he had lived with our neighbor for i believe a year or more before the trial and the newspaper story says that suspect was on work release from monroe correctional facilty and had been directly transferred to walpole during the investigation
i remember a different name and one of the members of this group's parent who sadly just passed away knew who he was and said he used to have the nickname 'showboat'
so maybe i shouldn't tell this but...
when the fountain of wayne song 'stacy's mom' was released and became successful it reminded me of our next door neighbors (plural)
our next door neighbor (on the southern side) was alleged to be a nudist when she was inside her house and the group member's parent who sadly passed away recently said he was driving past our next door neighbor on the north and almost crashed when he saw her sunbathing in the nude in the back yard...
...then i found out fountains of wayne were formed at williams
often mentioned with these murders was a young woman in bennington who worked at price chopper got into her car after work at night and a man hiding in her back seat wrapped a pair of jumper cables around her neck and began strangling her and she became unconscious
a police had allegedly just passed by and noticed her car headlights on and apparently no-one in the car
he turned around to check and the assailent reportedly turned the car headlights off and fled on foot
the moxley murder is not solved either
michael skakel's conviction was overturned
o j framer mark fuhrman was a nazi and wrote about the moxley murder implicating the kennedys
ron and nicole's murders aren't solved either
'Besides Tom Skakel and the other neighbor these included Franz Wittine, a German gardener who lived in the Skakels' basement and liked to boast of how he had raped and beaten girls as a soldier during World War II.'
'weird in the berkshires'
'"In the early morning of Nov. 2, 1976, less than four weeks after Krizack's murder, 21-year-old Cheryl Mull of Bennington was found unconscious in her car, with battery cables wrapped around her neck. She had left her job at Price Chopper shortly after midnight, only to find a mysterious man hiding in the backseat of her car. When she got in, he promptly attempted to strangle her with the cables, but was scared off when a local police officer drove by and, seeing what appeared to be an empty car with its headlights on, turned back to investigate. He quickly switched off the headlights and fled on foot. After she was taken to the hospital, six local and state officers searched the nearby woods but failed to find anyone. The mysterious assailant was never caught."'
'The other two unsolved disappearances were of Kim Benoit, 18, in 1974 and Dawn Smith, 14, in 1975. Both were from North Adams.'
'LIACOS, J. In June, 1983, a Berkshire County grand jury returned four indictments against the defendant, Andrew M. Todd, charging him with murder in the first degree, assault with intent to murder, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and carrying a firearm without legal authority. In October of that year, a jury found the defendant guilty on all four indictments.'
'Shortly after 10 P.M. on May 18, 1983, while working at the Modern Aluminum
Anodizing Corporation in North Adams, the victim, Tammy Peckham, was shot to death by a person who fired a shotgun at her through a factory window. She was eighteen years old at the time of her death, and was the girl friend of the defendant. The defendant and the victim had a tumultuous relationship in which marriage had been discussed. They had lived together intermittently during the four-year period before the victim's death; they had one child.'
'The saga of Carol Todd's disap- pearance began Dec. 12, 1976. That was the day she disappeared from a third-floor room at the Sheraton North Adams Inn. Although police officially had to classify the case as that of a missing person, they treated it as a homicide investigation. Foul play Just short of six months later, the head of the investigating unit is perhaps even more convinced that foul play had a part in Miss Todd's disappearance. Carol Todd came to North Adams Friday Dec. 10, driving from school with Carl Cellana, a city native. They had been dating several years, since they were students at North Adams State College.'

6. whether it has any bearing or not, these murders and assaults occurred shortly before and after the church committee hearings which led to the church reforms in intelligence gathering
the 1975 church and pike investigations are alleged to be the reason richard helms, williams '35, had the government's copies of the mk ultra mind control records destroyed in 1973 just before the 1974 seymour hersh expose labelled 'the family jewels' by the press brought to light unwarranted domestic surveilance on u s ctizens, mk ultra and black operation rendition programs made famous by 'the bourne identity' and 'the osterman weekend' novels by robert ludlum

7. And other murders...August of '73, an unidentified young man was found along a roadway near Rindge, NH, just north of Gardner. Cause of death was not quickly determined, though it was thought he had been hit by or pushed from a moving vehicle. Then, again in September, an unidentified hispanic male was stabbed to death in Petersburg, NY. He was found at a rest stop, mere miles from VT and MA.
'In February of '73, Mark Twohey, 19, was stabbed to death and left in a field in Gardner, MA (in the northeast-north central area of the state).
May '73, 18 year-old Donna Boudreau was found in a heavily wooded area near Fitchburg (some 20 miles from Gardner). Cause of death had yet to be determined. She had not been sexually assaulted.
September of '73, Judith Bieweg, 31, was found stabbed to death in the woods near her Townsend, MA home (10 miles from Fitchburg). She was not sexually assaulted.'

pulled me over once when i was on my way to bcc without an inspection sticker after my radiator started bubbling over because i had poured a quart of oil in it
he asked me why i poured oil in the radiator, but i had forgotten
it was because the north adams kmart cashire where had bought it had bent over the checkout counter and i saw her breasts, then went out in the parking lot and poured the oil into the radiator and drove off
'In 1955, Sperry acquired Remington Rand and renamed itself Sperry Rand. Acquiring then Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation and Engineering Research Associates along with Remington Rand, the company developed the successful UNIVAC computer series and signed a valuable cross-licensing deal with IBM.[5] The company remained a major military contractor. From 1967 to 1973 the corporation was involved in an acrimonious antitrust lawsuit with Honeywell, Inc. (see Honeywell v. Sperry Rand).'
when i moved to the camp in north st pete it was next to a honeywell factory and this white van used to drive really slowly along the road with the side door open and a small disk antenna like thing sticking out and i later googled they had become part of or merged with sperry rand and they were making autonomous vehicles
